On May 30, 2025, we learned that an unknown threat actor obtained a copy of our encrypted Canvas platform database without authorization. While no sensitive personal information was involved, out of an abundance of caution and transparency, we are providing you with the following answers and guidance.
Yes. Your email address and hashed Canvas password (from the time of the backup) were included in a password-protected backup file that was downloaded without authorization. While we cannot confirm whether this data was accessed, we are treating this with an abundance of caution.
Out of an abundance of caution, if you're currently enrolled in a Ziplines course, we recommend that you reset your Canvas password immediately. If you’ve used the same password on other websites or services, we strongly recommend updating those passwords as well.
