University College, the University of Denver’s College of Professional and Continuing Education, has partnered with Ziplines Education to launch industry certification courses in tech-adjacent, high-growth career disciplines.
Course offerings include digital marketing, business analytics, project management, sales development, and sales operations.
Courses will span 10 weeks and are self-directed, with online instruction and optional live sessions.
“It has been very much a passion project for me to expand our educational offerings to provide access and entry points into the university and into affordable and convenient educational offerings,” said Teri Markle, University College’s Associate Dean of Continuing Education.
All of the industry certification courses are priced at $2,750, though there are special launch discounts available at this time.
Markle also expressed excitement over the fact that the certification courses were a part of the Colorado Eligible Training Provider list. “It’s an important funding opportunity for individuals that might need additional support, especially when it’s workforce-related and in the non-credit, or continuing education space,” said Markle.
In addition to financial support options, those who enroll will have access to other wraparound supports offered by the University of Denver. “One in particular that we find students really take advantage of is the Career Hub,” said Markle. Career Hub support includes resume building, feedback on cover letters, assistance with job and internship searches, as well as help preparing for interviews.
Those who are uncertain about enrolling can speak to advisors before making any commitments and ascertain whether the industry certification courses align with their career or educational goals.
“We consider the students in these courses as University of Denver students,” said Markle.
While courses are offered in partnership with Zipline Educations, the University of Denver remains very invested in its offerings.
“It’s really important to us, actually, that we partner because we see value in the expertise and it allows us to scale the offering a little bit more quickly,” said Markle, “but we’re involved in evaluating and interviewing not only instructors but the curriculum as well.”
University College has also been selective in which of the Zipline courses it has launched. “Many of our courses are designed to be educational pathways. So yes, there are specific courses on our degree side that align with like digital marketing and business analytics,” Markle said.
Students can therefore “stack” the industry certifications alongside their degrees and differentiate themselves to be more competitive in the job market.
Interest levels and early demand for these industry certification-courses are some of the highest the University of Denver has ever seen.
“We’re finding that these offerings are actually resonating with students that are currently seeking either bachelor’s degrees or master’s degrees as a way to highlight a particular skill that is in significant demand and to marry that certification with it to level up their professional profile,” said Markle.
“These courses speak the language that employers recognize, they want to understand how it translates into what you can do for them,” she said.
“Now is the time to take charge of your future and invest in it,” she said.
